Friday Challenger Paddle Review
I've been playing pickleball for 3.5 years and play at the 5.5+ level. I practice/play 3-4 times per week and I am currently competing across the country in PPA and APP pro qualifier draws.
I have played with dozens of paddles and after winning gold in multiple tournaments with the Friday challenger, I can honestly say that this is my favorite paddle I've ever used!
1
I needed both control AND power.
I'd describe myself as a control-oriented player and the paddles I've used in the past would reflect that. Some of those paddles include the Diadem Warrior Edge and the Volair Mach 1 16mm.
When thermoformed paddles hit the market I was curious about adding some power to my game but every thermoformed paddle I tried felt like I was hitting a 2x4 and I lost the control aspect of my game.
I reverted back to control-oriented paddles and added lead tape to help me with additional power. Before I knew it, my paddles were weighing over 9oz and I was losing hand speed. I needed a better solution to get more power without sacrificing control!

The Challenger was the best of both worlds
This is what makes the Friday Challenger paddle so unique. It is a thermoformed, raw carbon fiber paddle that blends power and control beautifully. You no longer have to pick one or the other, you can have the best of both worlds! It comes in at just 8.0 ounces while having TWO layers of Carbon Fiber to increase control and power.
I can go from ripping a third shot drive to dropping in a buttery soft fifth shot drop. I can go from a long dink rally to a counter attack that ends the point.
I absolutely love having the ability to feel confident in every single shot I hit. Not to mention the spin I can create with the raw carbon fiber face! This is the ultimate shotmaker's paddle.

Beautiful Designs, Pro-Grade Performance
The design of the paddle stands out in a sea of boring raw carbon fiber paddles. I love the pops of color that make this a truly unique paddle.
I'm an elite player, but I also love showing my personality on the court, and I love taking home gold with a beautifully designed paddle at a price point that's less than half of what my competitors are using on the court.

So far the Friday Challenger Paddle has lived up to its billing. Definitely good power on the drives, decent pop on my volleys and working through the touch/control. I like the paddle particularly at the price point.

Fantastic Paddle
I started out with a Selkirk oversized paddle which is a very good paddle. It appears however that the grit is not as robust as the Challenger.
I have now played at least 20 games with my new Friday and doubt I will go back to the Selkirk.
It is a myth that a paddle has to be expensive in order to be a quality product.

Impressed
Great paddle. I’m a Selkirk paddle player. When my friend put her Selkirk down after trying out her new Friday paddle, I had to give one a try. I love it and reach for my new Friday paddle first! Two of my other friends are ordering too!
